An infected ear initiates immense pain in the ear and develops a very critical headache. As the ear is connected with the nose, the nose gets affected due to the infection and starts running.

It has been medically acclaimed that ear does help to maintain human balance. Being poised at right angles, the three semicircular canals of the inner ear help in balancing act. On head movement, the fluid in these canals also show a resulting movement which identifies the extent of brain movement and positioning. The inner part of the ear responds to the gravitational force by sending information to the brain when the head remains still.

Normal hearing depends on two mediums such as bones and air for conduction through the ear that reaches to the brain and causes hearing sensation there. Hearing loss happens due to conductive and sensorineural causes. If sound waves cannot move in the ear properly, it results in conductive cause of hearing loss.

When the ear is infected, the sound waves face some problems to conduct within ear due to the deposition of mucous. A burst eardrum also complements to the inefficient movement of the sound waves. Blockage in the ear canals also affects the sound movement. Sensorineural causes refer to the destruction of the hair cells or nerves present in the ear which helps to sense the sound waves.

In vertigo, one can feel the spinning movement of the surroundings around him. It also refers to an illusion when one feels the movement. It occurs due to the inflammation of the labyrinthitisor vestibular neuritis in the inner ear. The inflammation in the inner year mostly happens by bacteria. It includes inconveniences like ringing in the ear, hearing loss etc.

Nausea is an unpleasant feeling in the throat or stomach. It instigates vomiting. As it is controlled by some part of the brain, it gets initiated by the infection of the ear. Nausea is commonly referred as a symptom for bacterial and viral diseases.

Vomiting usually refers to the forceful action performed by the diaphragm muscles to relax the gastroesophageal sphincter which results in repelling out food particles and saliva out of the stomach. Viral infections plays a big role in vomiting. Nasal congestion and pain can also make people vomit. As the ear controls the balance of the body, any discrepancies in that might also cause vomiting.

A thick yellow or bloody fluid gets drained out from the eardrum when the ear gets infected. The fluid gets discharged as the result of the bursting or rupturing of the eardrum. Rupture in an ear refers to the tear or hole in the middle ear membrane. It generates puss and smell pungent. However, the wounds occurred due to the bursting of the eardrum heals automatically without any medication.

Infected ears increase body temperature up to 104 degree Fahrenheit. Though the body temperature is not so high, it creates dizziness and makes one ill.

As the ear gets infected by some virus or bacteria, some pain arises in the ear. The mucous built up in the middle ear also causes some amount of pain in the ear as the mucous fluid puts a pressure on the eardrums. An infectious ear gives tremendous pain as the sensory nerve endings in the eardrum responds to the increased pressure.
