To help you hunt the ever-growing number of FitBit models, here’s what you need to know before buying. Alternatively, you can just view which FitBit is best for you at Harvey Norman right now. They have all FitBit’s models from everyday fitness, active fitness, to performance fitness types.

FitBit with GPS functionality

FitBit Surge can monitor your heart rate, send you text and call notifications, run multiple different apps, and of course, tell time. It also has sleep detection functionality that automatically knows when you sleep.

Special mention: FitBit Blaze

The blaze is somewhat a new family member of FitBit family. It has a full-color touchscreen and offers GPS, but unlike Surge, it needs to use your smartphone’s GPS. You won’t be able to use this feature if you don’t pair it with your phone.

FitBit with heart rate monitoring

Many FitBit models have heart rate monitoring, including both the Surge and Blaze above. The Charge HR also has this feature as well, but less the price and bulk. The Charge HR was actually named one of the best overall choices for money in 2015. Sure, it lacks music controls, notifications, and GPS, but it has some great features too.

Note: FitBit Charge, a variant of FitBit Charge HR doesn’t have heart rate monitoring, so be careful when buying.

Customizable FitBit

If you’re looking to personalize your fitness tracker experience, then FitBit Alta band is for you. Like most FitBit wearables, Alta sports interchangeable bands. In addition, it offers a slim OLED display with multiple clock face options to choose from. Choosing between horizontal or vertical orientation is also possible.

End Note

The above FitBits are the wrist wearable models. Others, like FitBit Zip and FitBit One can be kept in pockets or clipped on your outfit.

Everyone’s needs are unique, so think hard before committing yourself to a particular FitBit model. What are your thoughts on fitness trackers? Share it with us below!
