1. The most convenient option

I am thirteen and off late I have been having these uncontrollable urges to relieve gas no matter where I am. It’s embarrassing but I simply can’t help it. I spoke to my mother about it last week and she started me off on a special diet that ruled out all the gas producing foods and included probiotics. I was not allowed chewing gum and colas. It did work quite well for me, but it didn’t quite get rid of the problem entirely. Then one of my mom’s friends suggested a home remedy in which I was to swallow a spoonful of fenugreek seeds with warm water. I did that for a few days and now I can say with confidence that home remedies are probably the best way of getting rid of gas and flatulence. I am glad I confided in my mom and put an end to this horrible problem.

2. Watch out your diet

My gas woes began seven years ago when I was in high school. However, I did overcome the problem for a few years until it struck back after six years. It was terrible and it left me helpless as I couldn’t stop people from noticing it. This put me in depression where I isolated myself from friends and family and lost my interest in work. I thought that it was the end of the world for me, no friends, no boyfriends, no marriage, nothing. I tried everything under the sun, but nothing seemed to work. I lost my self confidence and became a recluse to the point that I couldn’t face people anymore. Then suddenly a friend came over and offered help. She told me to listen to my body and to find the cure from within. My heart somewhat agreed with her completely and I began to watch the demands of my body. I began to write down the names of the foods that triggered flatulence and what did not. I stopped eating large portions and began to have lighter breakfasts which in fact made my day more pleasant. Eventually, I found the solution from within. It is important to treat your body with respect without taking it for granted.ย 

3. Liquid diet regimen

I have a huge stomach gas problem and my doctor passed it off quite casually and said that nothing was wrong. However, recently I underwent an oral surgery due to which I am on a liquid diet comprising of probiotic yoghurt and soups and no solids whatsoever. Surprisingly all the gas has vanished. I had a word with my doctor yesterday and he asked me to recall all that I had been eating weeks before and after compiling a list I realized that I was on the most hazardous diet ever. Due to a lot of work overload, I had been eating out of tins, buying takeaway dinners, drinking colas and chewing a lot of gum which actually triggered the problem. My four day liquid diet actually relaxed my digestion tract and I am back on track.

4. The guilt trip

I’ve had a terrible flatulence/gas problem for a year now. It smells so bad that I get extremely embarrassed when it happens in front of friends and colleagues as they can make out it’s me. I’ve tried doing a lot of things like eliminate gas producing foods from my diet, eating less starches, reducing milk and drinking a lot of water. But it still persisted despite all this. However, after an appointment with my GP and a blood test, I realized that I might be having food allergies that are actually triggering stomach gas and this allergy has been taking a toll on my small and large intestines for the past one year. I was actually suffering from a leaky gut that enabled the fungus and yeast to enter into my blood stream and cause the gas and flatulence. I was on a special diet and medicine for healing the lining of my intestines. After about half a year, I finally got cured. However, to be on the safe side, I still go in for a colon cleanse every alternate month to keep me gas free.

5. Poor social life

I am 35 and have been suffering from stomach gas for a really long which has embarrassed me numerous times and has made my life very miserable. I was scared of hanging out with friends because I happened to release foul smell which could never go unnoticed. It freaked me out completely. I was paranoid about eating out because it actually aggravated the gas. Gas keeps building up inside my stomach and gets so painful that the pain goes away only after I release it. I look fat and bloated most of the times and some people take me as pregnant! I have tried controlling what I eat so I try to eat in small quantities. However, despite all that I never found a long lasting solution to this problem. Then one fine day I came across a friend who told me about pancreatin supplements which have actually helped me in a huge way. I no longer have the feeling of uneasiness due to gas and I do not look or feel bloated anymore.
