Binge eating disorder is also found in people who follow strict diets and weight loss programs. Generally, people suffering from obesity tend to follow strict diet plans and work hard towards losing weight. However, since they have a tendency of overeating, they develop binge eating habits.

3. Mental health

Binge eating disorder can also happen due to unstable mental health. Researchers have found that as many as half of the people who binge eat, have suffered from depression, anxiety or sadness in past and, as a result, indulged in over eating or harmful eating habits

Those who have a history of depression and cannot manage stress, worries and mood swings are most likely to binge .Some of the other psychological factors that cause binge eating disorder are panic disorders and phobias.

9. Genetic proclivity

Those who suffer from binge eating disorder have been found to inherit genes that increases their tendency to overeat or eat recklessly. Besides, alteration of some of the chemicals in the brain also causes binge eating disorder. Such people either belong to families where the members have a habit of overeating or focus too much on food.
