1. Alcohol- " the real culprit "

I used be a heavy drinker some months back when I started suffering from dehydration. I was not drinking much water because I never felt thirsty after all that alcohol I had during the day. I started having headaches and my eyes would look sunken most of the time. I came to know about when I went to a hospital after I noticed a change in my urine color. I was advised to reduce drinking and increase my intake of other fluids. I carried out their advice and I could see a drastic improvement in my condition within a week. I now stay away from alcohol and only have it when I am at a social event.

2. The journey of a little one

My nephew was very small when he had diarrhea, we treated him for it but even then his behavior did not come back to what it earlier was. He was very playful when he was healthier but he was showing very low activity now. I would be helping his mom change his diaper and notice that it would not be wet as usual as it used to. He was showing signs of very low urination, and even when he cried, there would be very few tears. When we got him checked out by a doctor, we found that he had been suffering dehydration post diarrhea. He had to be admitted in the hospital for four days and a strict dietary plan was given. He has now recovered fully and is again back to his naughty self.

3. A weak moment

I was attending a rock festival with my friends and my favorite bands was supposed to be coming for the event. We knew it would be very crowded so we had reached the concert arena early and were waiting there hours before the given time. Unfortunately, yet predictably, the bands also arrived late. By the time the second band had performed I was feeling very tired and dizzy. I did not dare to go out because I did not want to face the crowd on my own. I was feeling thirsty and my throat was feeling very dry, yet I went on shouting as the bands started playing my favorite songs. But with passing time, my headache was becoming worse and my head was spinning, I could hardly make out what song was being played. The last thing I remember was tugging at my friendโ€™s hand asking him to come with me for a drink before I blacked out. I woke up in a hospital with my friends by my side, all of them looking scared, and a doctor who informed us that it was due to dehydration. I could not even remember the last time I had a sip of water when the doctor asked me this. I am now very cautious and careful about my body fluid levels and have never shown the symptoms again.

4. An increase in fluid intake made it all

I was attending a summer camp for the first time when I was in 7th grade. I had never stayed away from home and was feeling very homesick. I had gradually made friends but would generally stay in bed most of the time. This was very unusual because I was a sports lover and used to play various games. I would always be feeling tired even if I had just gotten out of the bed or would have a headache. I was puzzled by this and attributed it to the campโ€™s food and my homesickness. But during the weekly medical checkup at the camp, it was found out that I was showing symptoms of dehydration. It was only in the primitive stage so I was able to control it easily. When I started increasing my fluid uptake, my tiredness went away within days and I was able to join my friends in all the outdoor activities.
