5. Controlling the media

A study conducted two researchers named Thompson and Stice showed that media has a great affect on starting this disorder. They used random experiments and taught young women to be more critical when it comes to analyzing media. This spreading of awareness is considered to be a treatment because they observed that media and television raised the expectations of women after what they immortalized as a perfect body. This caused thin ideal internalization to start in young women which is a symptom of bulimia nervosa.
