1. Variations in cognition or speech

Variations in speech and cognition can also be due to brain tumor pressuring a certain part of our brain which is responsible for speech generation and cognition.

2. Ringing in the ears

Ringing in the ears can occur usually when the affected person makes a phone call. The patient may hear a ringing sound when there is no actual external sound. Oftentimes, the ringing sound can be just tinnitus or it may even be a tell tale sign of brain tumor.

3. Seizures

This is probably one of the key indicators of brain cancer. Seizure is a widespread common sign of brain tumor, which one fourth of the brain cancer patients report to have experienced.

4. Inability to maintain balance

Symptoms like lack of coordination while walking or stumbling can be a result of lesions in the cerebellar region. This symptom may also be accompanied with other symptoms of brain cancer like vomiting, nausea, headache and abnormal eye movements.

5. Variation in smell and taste

Tumors like the one in temporal lobe can lead to hallucinations, where a person smells something that is not there in reality. The patient can also lose partial or full ability to taste a food.

6. Variations in memory and personality

Brain cancer patients may exhibit personality altering behavior and temperament as the growth of brain tumor can put a lot of pressure on the brain cells. Depending on where the tumor has grown, it can even interfere with the cognition and memory of that person. Also, the constant pain and discomfort due to the tumor can make a person irritable.

7. Abnormal eye movements

An abnormal movement of eye or deterioration of vision can also be a symptom of brain tumor. Around one-third of brain cancer patients have reported issues with their visions. The issues could vary from simple vision difficulties to partial blockage of vision and twitching. A check up with an eye doctor is advised to rule out any other eye complications arising from noncancerous disease.

8. Vomiting

When a tumor exerts pressure in some specific areas of our brain, it can trigger the feeling of nausea and vomiting. If a person starts to get these symptoms and cannot think of any other cause, then this condition should be discussed with a specialist.

9. Headaches

Headaches are the most common and typical signs and symptoms of brain tumor. More than two-thirds of patients suffering from a benign form of brain tumor often complain about headaches. Headaches can occur in different forms, at different places in the head. Many times, headaches due to tumors start with severe pain in the morning and at evening time. But, the pain reduces or disappears in the daytime. However, headache alone is not the only sure sign of brain tumors. So, one must not panic in case of repetitive headaches and should rather get it checked by a doctor.
