Aging Prevention

Aging: Prevention

Top Prevention

1. Cleanse your face properly

One of the major factors behind early aging is lack of proper hygiene. Dirt, along with make up and oils, blocks the pores on the face, thus contributing toward aging. Make it your daily routine to cleanse your face before going to bed, this keeps the pores small and tight and prevents skin irritation. Wash your face gently with a cleanser and then rinse with a water splash. However, you have to be careful with the delicate skin around your eyes. Always use the circular upward motion while applying cream and makeup, this avoids skin pulling.

2. Be vigilant when it comes to sun exposure

You must limit the amount of time that you spend in the sun because ultraviolet radiation from sun is one of the major factors behind aging. Sun rays can cause age spots and wrinkles on your face, even in the winters, so it is recommended to use sunscreen on your face each day irrespective of the season. The sunscreen that you use must be having SPF 15 or higher. Sun light can make you squint constantly, which leads to expression lines on your face. You must wear large sunglasses in order to avoid such lines. Wearing a hat with a brim can also protect your face from the harmful sun rays.

3. Take selenium

Selenium slows down the process of aging and helps in preserving youthful and soft skin texture because it protects your body from free radicals, which lead to aging. In fact, some animal studies have even shown that selenium is associated with reduced incidence of skin cancer. Although, not much research has been done on the effects of selenium on humans, but still the effects on animals are convincing enough to include selenium in both nutritional supplements and your diet. Highest concentration of selenium is found in garlic, seafood such as tuna, whole grains and eggs.

4. Use vitamin E both topically and internally

Vitamin E is yet another important antioxidant which acts against aging. It has been found in studies that your skin starts to wrinkle if it does not have sufficient amount of vitamin E. Break a liquid vitamin E capsule and apply it directly on your face at night. You should consume vitamin E even internally by taking a supplement of 400 mg. This prevents as well as repairs photodamage and makes your skin supple and smooth.

5. Take vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the most important nutrients that is pivotal for looking young. However, the amount of vitamin C in the skin reduces considerably by exposure to pollution and UV rays. Hence, supplementing vitamin C externally becomes essential. You can provide this supplementation by eating lots of green vegetables such as spinach or broccoli and citrus fruits. Also, vitamin C tablets are available which can be used. Another effective way to prevent further aging and repair existing skin damage is the topical application of vitamin C. However, this method is not very practical as it is difficult to find a good quality vitamin C serum.

6. Exercise

Exercise is one the most effective measure that can prevent not only aging of the skin, but also other symptoms associated with it as it increases blood circulation and metabolic rate of the body. You must exercise at least three times in a week, also there are several facial exercises, which focus entirely on your face and skin. Practice yoga as it is a good form of physical exercise as well as relieves you from stress. Other than this, exercise helps you in weight management as the elasticity of the skin gets affected by weight fluctuations.

7. Use natural products

You are certainly not going to get any help to prevent skin aging from facial creams which are full of unnatural and synthetic products. It is best to use natural products, for instance, coconut oil is a very good skin moisturizer. Not only it gets absorbed in the skin quickly, but also keeps your skin fresh and healthy.
