Can you suggest me some ways to heal pain?

The day before yesterday I had a drastic pain beneath my right foot. I’m a basketball player and I gave myself rest for 2 days and it seems the pain has cooled down. There are 3 days left for the trainings to start and I must go in order to keep up with the others. So my question is should I put ice on the place and do some treatments for faster treatment? Can you suggest me some ways to heal pain?
