What do you suggest for osgood schlatter?

I have been suffering from osgood schlatter. I have had problems in my right hip for years now, I used to have this same problem in my knees. I have always been told that rest will help, but when I begin running again after I rest, the pain eventually comes back. Anyone know the best way to cure this? I really do not want to rest in order to avoid putting stress on the hip.What would you suggest for a person like me? Anyone got the same problem as me? What are you guys trying?
