Five women diseases may occur in men as well

The human body is very much in concern because of several diseases associated with it. Any significant change in internal body system leads to severe disease condition of the man. Until date, diseases are mainly classified based on sources and causing agent groups. On the other hand, some of the diseases are also categorized based on gender. Like some diseases are specific to female gender, as they are easier to be developed by the female body. However, men are still left with few chances to be at risk from those diseases, which are very common in females. As a result, men are also required to be alert and pay more attention to follow the preventive measures against them. Following is the list of some of the female diseases which can also occur in males.

1. Breast cancer

Normally, people start relating a woman whenever they hear about this particular type of cancer i.e. breast cancer. Although, this is one of the most common diseases found in females but may also be faced by males. This is because breast cells are found in every normal human body. However, females are more prone to it because of varied hormones existence. The survival rates in breast cancer are almost similar in the cases of both men and women. The main causes are overweight, excessive drinking and rise in estrogen hormone level, genetic predisposition, etc. However, higher level of estrogen may also leads to Klinefelter’s syndrome or cirrhosis disease condition. Comparatively, men end up with death in this condition because of not being diagnosed at early stages of this cancer. Usually, men have more risk at the age of 60-70 years.

2. Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is the disease, which is mostly found in females. The main reason is calcium deficiency, which rises with the age. Females even undergo several tests at various stages of life especially during pregnancy and menopause, which are one of the prime causes for weakened bone condition. Men usually do not come up with any bone deficiency cases. Therefore, even most of the advertisements regarding calcium supplements are entirely female-oriented. However, it is reported that risk of death due to fracture in men are much higher than women. The only reason, probably, not being diagnosed since very long time. The bone condition always remains unchecked in whole life span of men whereas women do receive regular check ups because of hormonal changes in several stages of life. Men are prone to hip fractures and can happen to them by the age of fifty. The potential causes of osteoporosis in case of men are excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, no physical workout, or any family background. Intake of special group of medicines containing steroids such as asthma doses may also lead to osteoporosis condition. The National Osteoporosis Foundation has also reported that around 2 million men suffered from osteoporosis at present.

3. Bladder infections

Woman often suffer from at least one bladder infection because of the presence of shorter urethra. The shorter urethra condition ultimately provides the lesser distance to be covered by bacteria. However, this factor can never be the reason behind men’s bladder infection. Men usually develop the bladder infection with age. The bladder infection mainly results due to blockage in urine passage inside their body. Some cases such as kidney stones, narrowed urethras, large sized prostates, etc. lead to bladder infection condition. The main symptoms of bladder infection are common in the cases of both men and women. These are frequent urination, lower back pain, pelvic pain, discharges of blood through urine, and burning sensation.

4. Thyroid problems

Thyroid problems are generally very common in females. The thyroid glands are responsible for overall metabolism and proper functioning of few of the body organs. In severe conditions, nodule formation can be noticed in your throat region, where thyroid gland is actually located. This unfavorable development occurs in two types- hypothyroidism (most common type) and hyperthyroidism, and can lead to cancer stage. However, studies reported that men could also have risk for this dreadful condition. The basic symptoms of hypothyroidism are gaining weight, tiredness, and depression whereas symptoms of hyperthyroidism are losing weight at rapid rate, faster heartbeat, and excessive agitation. Various other disease conditions such as autoimmune disorder, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis may also lead to thyroid disorders. The family history can also be one of the prominent reasons for thyroid problems. Hence, all these conditions are applicable in both women and men.

5. Depression

As women are very fragile in terms of emotional aspect, the risk of depression is automatically pointed towards them. Depression is such a disease condition, which mainly results into excessive sadness by the victim. However, men also do suffer from depression in a very deep manner. Their main signs are being annoyed and frustrated, running from problems (either become too focused on work or become addicted to alcohol or drugs) and experience acute physical pain than normal. Studies also reported that maximum suicide cases go for men as compared to women. Men are always over pressurized by society, as they are much stronger than women in terms of mental and physical both. Therefore, there is higher risk for men to be suffered from depression state. Therefore, regular diagnosis and preventions should be followed by women and men both.
