Can naproxen 500 mg cause stomach ulcers?

I am 26 years old and two days back I had fallen from the stairs.I got injuries on my both legs and back.It was a very painful experience for me.Earlier I was on bed rest and taking some herbal medication but as the pain became unbearable I had to consult the doctor.Today only I went to the physician who had prescribed me naproxen 500 mg.I would like to know from you if this drug can cause me stomach ulcers and other serious side-effects?
