Itchy Eyelids cause and preventive measures?

It’s quite a few days since when I am having Itchy Eyelids. It made my public life so embarrassing that now I almost do not get mingle with people easily. I do not have any idea as how I got infected by it but certainly wish to get cured and once again lead a normal life. I wish to know about cause of these Itchy Eyelids and what all should be the preventive measures so that I do not get infected again?
