Can anyone tell me about the dosage of xopenex in asthma?

I am suffering from asthma and when I went to the doctor for medical checkup, I was advised to take xopenex as its medication. I do not know anything about this medicine and how effective it is for that very purpose. I wish to know about certain things related with this medication. Can somebody elaborate me xopenex side effects and its dosage as well?
