Is C diff infection life threatening?

For last two weeks I have not been feeling well. And for that I have contacted one of my friends who has got really a wide range of knowledge about the health. I have shared my problems with him and he told me that you might be suffering from the C diff infection. So, I want to ask from you people that what are the symptoms of this disease? Also, I want to know that is it a life threatening disease? How one can get infection from this disease?What are the cures of this disease?
