Olmesartan Dose And category?

I am 38 years old and I have high blood pressure along with high cholesterol. My last month blood pressure count was 130/90. My doctor has clearly stated that I cannot rely on diuretics and calcium channel blockers as part of my anti-hypertensive therapy. He is suggesting me now to use olmesartan. I want to know the category  of this antihypertensive drug along with dose for a 38 year old like me. Anybody using it already?
