It is very easy for a teenager to get swayed away by the negative trends to stay in a popular peer group. This age is similar to that of a molded clay pot that needs some furnace treatment to face the world. Similarly, the teenagers need to be guided to become strong enough to face the world. Here are some points which may make a question mark in a teenagers mind.

1. Menstrual cycle

It is very common that girls get irregular period when they start menstruating. The time taken for the period to get regular can vary from a few months to a year. When the regularity in the menstrual cycle is regained, it can be again lost due to work outs, taking lots of stress and diet change. There can also be pain in lower abdomen while menstruating; take it easy if it happens with you as it is normal. If you have had sex and you drop your period after that, it can mean that you are pregnant. In this case you should immediately consult a doctor.

2. Puberty and breast

There is possibility of swelling and pain in breast during puberty especially while menstruating. Your breast is under the process of development and it might happen that one of your breasts grows bigger than the other. However, they will get similar in size when fully grown. No women’s breast is congruent to each other, so there is nothing to worry if yours is slightly different.

3. Sexually transmitted diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases propagate by sexual intercourse or venereal touch. If one of the sex partners is in trap of a sexually transmitted disease, the other can easily be infected. This disease can be spread by having both, genital sex or oral sex. If you are sexually active, it is recommended by the doctors to go for a routine test of STD. The test is necessary because these diseases do not show any symptom, especially in girls or women. It is wise to make use of contraceptive pills or condoms to avoid pregnancy.

4. Perceptions about body during teenage

It is not true that you will only look attractive when you are super slim; it is a fake perception. What is important is to be fit and exercise regularly. The body images that are being promoted by media are unrealistic and effort to copy one of those body images can be unhealthy and can lead to eating disorders. If you choose a wrong option of dieting or upset your eating routine, remember you are going to hamper your health. Your body as a teenager undergoes a number of metabolism and if you cut heavily on your diet you will not grow up into a fit person. You will have to face negative consequences of your mistakes in future, so avoid playing with your body and be happy for how you look.

5. Drinking

It is often observed that teenagers start drinking in between age of 12 to 17. Maybe it is challenging and attractive to boast that you can drink but it is anyways injurious to your health. It is not wise to start drinking just to show off or due to mere peer pressure. If you avoid this temptation, you will survive the world in a better way than the others. Be kind to yourself and avoid toxic drinks. A girl needs to be more alert because it is easy to sexually abuse or cheat a drunk person.

6. Depression

There are many reasons which can cause depression in a teenager. The changes in the body may be embarrassing at times. It is a transition that you are going through to become an adult nothing else. There is nothing to worry about as you are in a phase that every body is required to pass by. If you have any problems it is advised that you should talk about it and not keep it to yourself. This will resolve your problem and give peace of mind.

7. Self-annihilation

High rates of suicide and suicide attempts are observed among the teenagers. You should be aware that God has given you life to live and to satisfy your calling not to hurt yourself. God loves you and so you should never hurt yourself as it will hurt him. If you have a problem you should discuss it with your friends, parents or your loved ones; it is not a correct step to think of something like suicide before even sharing it with someone who can help. You will definitely be understood, accepted and will be guided through a correct direction. Remember there are many people who love you and one wrong decision can hurt them a lot.
