5 Natural ways to eliminate toxins from body

Balanced Diet

Your body is just like any other machine. It requires high- energy substances to run smoothly, just like a machine. And just like a machine, it also requires elimination of wastes that are produced internally. Your body has evolved several mechanisms to automatically eliminate these wastes. This process is called detoxification. The detoxification processes are possible only to some extent. But then, in today’s world, where pollution is prevalent, where lifestyles are constantly changing, not necessarily for the better, the intake of unhealthy stuff has remarkably increased. Result- not only is your body filled with toxins that are produced internally, but also, is overloaded with toxins absorbed from the surroundings. This is definitely more than what your body can easily excrete. Toxins get accumulated, casing long-lasting or sometimes, even fatal damages, some not-so-specific discomforts like insomnia, fatigue, head-ache, allergies and depression and some specific illnesses like arthritis, migraine, tumors, sinusitis. However, there is no reason to panic. They say prevention is better than cure. By making little changes in diet habits or your lifestyle, you could stop this massacre from happening. You could increase your body’s ability to detoxify the toxins. Also, you could decrease the level of toxins you intake.

1. Say ‘No’ to smoking and drinking

Alcohol is one of the biggest enemies of the liver. And what’s more? Liver is the most important organ in the detoxification process. Excess alcohol consumption leads to a condition called ‘fatty liver’ or ‘alcohol hepatitis’, both of which can be cured, but only if alcohol consumption is discontinued. If not, these diseases will lead to an even more fatal complication called ‘liver cirrhosis.’ Some moderate drinkers were also found to be effected by liver cirrhosis.

Cigarettes contain Nicotine, a harmful toxin that affects your lungs the most. Smoking also blocks your windpipe, thus causing difficulty in breathing. Smoking might introduce more than four thousand kinds of toxins into your body! No wonder they say “Smoking Kills!”

2. Avoid fatty foods

Foods with high saturated fatty acids should be avoided, as they are a load on the liver. Dairy, poultry, beef, and oils surely add flavor to the food. Do remember that along with taste, they also add calories and toxins to your body. These foods are not very easily digestible and promote obesity. A diet high in saturated fatty acids causes cholesterol accumulation in the heart, thus promoting heart diseases.

3. Consume lots of water

The answer to most health problems: drink water. Water helps in flushing out toxins like urea, uric acid, excess creatinine and other water soluble wastes from your body through urination, an obvious way for removal of the bad guys from the body. Also, by drinking water, you are boosting the health of your kidneys. Without water, the kidneys will have a very hard time functioning, as it is the primary solution they use to eliminate wastes from the body. You could also avoid formation of kidney stones or gall bladder stones. Drink as much water as possible, as it also helps reduce your weight.

4. Not tasty food, have healthy food

It is unfortunate that for many of us, healthy food doesn’t look appealing. But, nothing is more useful for detoxification than a well-planned, healthy, balanced diet, comprising fresh fruits, raw vegetables, natural fruit juices, sprouts and grains. Take in the right amount of carbs, proteins and essential fatty acids. Don’t forget that food with high fiber content is one of the excellent means to detoxify your body. These foods have high dietetic value. They enhance bowel movement and help throwing out toxins from the body through feces.

Also, intake of right amount of minerals should be ensured. Most people are deficient in magnesium, which protects cells from absorbing heavy metal toxins like aluminum, mercury, lead, cadmium. Rice bran, watermelon, pumpkin, dried herbs are some magnesium-rich foods. Further, vitamin-C or Ascorbates is very useful in elevating the health of the liver, thereby, enhancing the detoxification mechanism. Citrus family members like orange, lime are rich sources of this vitamin. Foods rich in anti-oxidants like carrot, grapes and green leafy vegetables should be included in your diet plan. Black and green teas are also rich in anti-oxidants. They help in neutralizing the free radicals that enter the body, hence minimize the harmful effects likely to be caused due to them.

5. Live in a low-stress and peaceful environment

Last but not the least, watch your surroundings and make sure that you are in a happy environment. Have plenty of sleep and avoid thinking too much about stressful things. Spend considerable time with your family and reduce your day-to-day pressures. This not only helps your detoxification processes, but improves your general physical and mental health!
