Cystic acne is quite a painful form of acne vulgarise, hence, cannot be cured overnight. Hormonal changes, collection of dirt on skin are some of the major causes that lead to deep, inflamed breakouts on face and other parts of the body. Home remedies can easily cure cystic acne because they don’t ruin the balance of your skin and have no side effects.
1. Aloe Vera
a. How it works: Aloe vera has been already the subject of many medical studies for its amazing healing properties for skin problems. The herb has antibacterial properties, which helps prevent growth of the cystic acne and reduces the redness and swelling from the affected area.
b. How to use: Aloe Vera can be applied in liquid form. Its juice helps in healing of the scars of the acne.
c. Do’s and don’t: Avoid overusage as aloe vera pose cancer risk to humans. Overdose can also cause many heart diseases and bone deterioration. Dehydration can also result from aloe vera. Heart and kidney patients should avoid using the herb.
2. Saline soak
a. How it works: One tried and effective treatment for the cyst acne is a simple salt water solution, which can be also called as Saline soak. Scientific research shows that saline water heals up the acne. Hot saline water increases the blood flow in body which helps to increase the nutrients and white blood cells to speed up the healing process.
b. How to use: To make a saline soak, you need warm water. Add one tablespoon of salt. Soak your towel or any cloth in that warm water and then put the soaked cloth on your face for about 10 minutes until the area is red and warm.
c. Do’s and don’t: Shower should be taken after applying saline soak to avoid deposition of salt on your body. Saline soak has bad effects on skin. Some fugal and bacterial problems can become more worse after a saline soak treatment for skin acne. Persons with heart problems should not use this method. Moreover, we should use distilled water always.
3. Apple cider vinegar
a. How it works: Apple cider vinegar is an effective natural agent which helps in curing acne by killing the bacteria and maintain the pH of our skin. It contains antibacterial properties along with many vital nutrients. Apple cider vinegar clear up acne by removing the impurities from the body and flushing out harmful toxins.
b. How to use: Add the vinegar to water on a 1/4 ratio. Then by using a clean cotton ball, dab the solution onto the skin. Repeat process 2-3 times a day until the acne clears up.
c. Do’s and don’t: Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic and should not be taken orally.
4. Tree oil
a. How it works: Tree oil is very effective against mild to moderate acnes. Tree oil is a antibacterial, antifungal and anti viral natural substance.
b. How to use: To use, dab a cotton ball into the tree oil and then gently apply the cotton piece on the affected area of the skin before going to bed. Rinse off the tree oil in the morning. For fast healing Vitamin E supplements can be taken.
c. Do’s and don’t: Tree oil should be used topically because it can have side effects if swallowed. Excessive use should be avoided as it can lead to the growth of allergic rash, itching or blistering. People with skin problems and eczema should avoid using tree oil much.
a. How it works: Potato has many vitamins and minerals which can act as a miracle to combat acne and pimples.
b. How to use: All you need is a potato (preferably the small sized ones so that you do not waste it).
Cut 2 slices from it, and rub the ‘sticky’ side against your entire face.
(If your case is severe, cut another two slices, and do the same).
Leave it to dry naturally for about 30-60 minutes before washing it off.
Repeat procedure twice a day.
c. Do’s and don’t: Make sure to use healthy potatoes. Do not use if you have a fresh wound.
