Like the first trimester of pregnancy, the third trimester is also crucially important for the mother and her child. Therefore, an expectant mother must follow several precautionary measures to keep herself fit and to ensure that the baby’s development is healthy and positive. Precautions to be taken during the third trimester

You have to continue with these along with other preventative methods for the health and safety of you and your baby. 1. By the 7th month, all the organs of the baby are developed. 5. Avoid eating fish as it may contain higher levels of mercury which can affect your child’s growth. Your diet must consists of about 2,500 calories from which approximately 10 percent must come from protein rich foods such as meat, eggs and dairy; 35 percent from healthy unsaturated fats including nuts and several oils; and 55 percent from complex carbohydrates that you can find in whole grain products. Avoid processed foods as much as possible.
1. The period from the 9th month to the baby’s birth is quite crucial for the mother and her child. Therefore, during this period, you must stay quite fit and keep yourself in a positive mood. Although, travel must be avoided during the 7th and 8th month, but it is strictly a no-no during the 9th month. As a precaution, you must decide about the birth process before hand, and you and your partner should make all necessary arrangements, including checking out the hospital where you will give birth.
