1. Don't escape the reality

I am a college student and I have been suffering from back ache since 6 months. I started bunking classes because of my pain and remained irritated with friends and family members. Our college organized a Stress Management Program and some eminent lecture was called for guidance. I wanted to skip it as it was a golden chance to stay at home and rest but one of my class mates requested me to attend it. I attended it and I was actually moved by the speech given my renowned professor. I realized that everything lies in our head and if we challenge situation and face it bravely things definitely become better. I understood that my frustration was not because of back ache but more because of stressed lifestyle and no time for myself. I have started taking out time for myself and mediation also helps a lot in stress releasing, I am liking my changed lifestyle.ย

2. Adhere to your doctor

I am 20 years old and am suffering from back ache since 3 years. My problem increases in winters and there is no permanent solution to it. Doctors concluded that my reluctance in wearing prescribed magnetic belt could be one of the main reasons for its repetitive attacks. And they were right because I hated wearing belt. It made me feel like old people and even the sight of it used to make me feel depressed. I never wanted to compromise with my looks but then one day my mom sat with me and made me realize that my attitude towards my problem was wrong. She gave plenty of examples to make me realize that world is full of problems and sufferings of mine were very small. She told my about our neighbor who is wheel chair ridden. My eyes opened that day and I promised myself not to bother my parents anymore because of my problem. I regularly wear magnetic belt now and have learnt to live with my problem.ย

3. Never lose hope

I am 21 years old and 5โ€™10โ€ tall. I have always felt proud of my height as girls with this much height are rare to find, but I never knew my so called asset will make me suffer from back ache. I wanted to go for modeling but my health didnโ€™t allow. Last year I felt severe pain in my lower back and I went to see as many doctors as possible because it was increasing day by day. Strong painkillers and injections became part of my life and I could not appear for modeling auditions. My dreams thrashed in front of my eyes. I couldnโ€™t take failure and pain altogether and broke in class one day. My friends and teacher got worried and motivated me to face life the way it comes. I joined 5 days art of living course that helped me in overcoming depressed feeling. I realized everything happens for a reason. Now I have got admission in one of the best MBA colleges and I want to work hard to make my parents feel proud of me.

4. One bad fall

I have always been a yoga fan but unfortunately had to leave it because of severe lower back pain. I used to attend regular yoga classes and one day fell badly on stairs on my way back home about 3 months ago. It was really painful and I was taken to the hospital. I left yoga classes and was on strong painkillers. I was completely bed ridden and could not even go out of my place. A month ago my yoga teacher came to see me and motivated me to start light yogic exercises. She has always been my source of inspiration and this time also I took her advice by heart. I started doing yoga from the very next day. It was painful but I could not ignore her words. Itโ€™s been a month now and nothing could break my determination. Doctors are surprised to see the pace of my recovery and I feel calm and relaxed. I am eager to join my classes as soon as possible and say thanks to my teacher for making me fight my pain so easily.

5. Terribly gone wrong

Almost a year back I felt pain in my left buttock and slowly it gripped my entire left leg and lower back. I visited local doctor and he took it lightly telling me that it might be because of my wrong sitting posture or likewise. I was given painkillers and ointments but nothing helped. I visited another doctor who gave stronger painkillers and anti inflammatory medicines that improved things while sleeping but I could feel the same pain and agony while walking. Things were getting worse but then one of my relative suggested me to join physiotherapy course. Last month I went to see a physiotherapist andย was quite impressed by his advice and the way of treatment. I never knew such simple exercises could help our body movements to such an extent and itโ€™s been a month now that I am regularly attending therapy classes. Good news is that I feel less pain in my back and leg movement has also improved.
