1. My headaches

I used to have frequent headaches in the past. My doctor prescribed me Serzone and Atenolol for migraine headaches. It worked till I kept on taking those medicines. One of my close friends then advised me that I should try to cure it naturally. She then shared with me some natural home remedies that really worked. Now, I hardly have headaches and whenever I have them, I know the easy tricks. Now, I apply icepack to the affected areas like neck, forehead and upper back for 10 minutes. It really work wonders. I also consume peppermint as it is an effective herbal remedy for headache. All thanks to my dear friend!

2. My ill fated accident

5 years ago, I met with an accident, which permanantally damaged my occipital nerve. I now suffer from migraines all the time. My doctor helps me to have a temporary relief (for 6-7 months) from the pain. And for that I go under a procedure, wherein my Occipital Nerve is burnt with a Radio Frequency Needle. It actually works but sadly I have to undergo this every 6-7 months! I know I will have to bear this pain for the rest of my life! But still I am living with it with a hope that a day will come when I will find a permanent solution to this problem.

3. I am happy today

I was a brilliant student and was preparing for my engineering entrance exam. I used to study day and night. I worked really hard as I wanted to take admission in a good engineering college. It was my exam the next day and I studied till late night and went off to sleep. The next morning when I woke up, I was having severe headache and nausea feeling. I could not woke up from my bed. My room mate gave me a pain killer, and also applied balm over my forehead, but all in vein. Then he called up the doctor and my parents reached too. The doctor said I had a migraine attack. I had to miss my exam, I had no other choice. But I didn’t loose hope. I received treatment for migraine and kept patience. I appeared in the exam next year and scored excellent marks. Now I am studying in my dream college and have recovered from migraine completely.

4. What to take care of

I had the habit of popping tablets without doctor’s prescription every time I had even a minor headache. I used to have headaches very often, but yet I never bothered to get myself checked and pain killers seemed the easiest way to get rid of the pain. My roommate suggested many times that I should avoid it, but I never listened to her. But when I started experiencing several health problems like severe stomach ache and ulcers, my family doctor told me that they are the side effects of pain killers. I then realized that the easy way landed me in trouble and made my life miserable. So, now I am on medication and I no more take any medicine without my doctor’s prescription and follow his advice sincerely. My life is far far better now!

5. A useful advice

Couple of days ago, I was having a severe headache, while I was working in my office. I was unable to work and it became difficult for me to even look at the computer. I then called up the office boy to bring a tablet for me because I knew I won’t be able to work in this condition. My senior, who sits next to me, came to me with a liquid balm. He then told me about the side effects of pain killers and the adverse effect they can cause if taken without doctor’s prescription. He asked me to rub liquid balm instead. I listened to his advice and rubbed the liquid balm. It worked wonders and in sometime I got rid of the headache. I thanked him for his useful advice that was indeed an eye opener for me. Since then, I keep away from tablets and instead use balm.
