1. My mother showed me the way

I have been struggling a lot with an anxiety disorder. My mother said that I should be taking medical help to lead a better life. After consulting a doctor, I was given high doses of Paxil. It helps to a certain extent. But I feel a lot better after counseling sessions and meditation. The doctor has advised me to take a walk daily, meet new people and make friends. I often visit my friends which makes me feel a lot better.

2. My roommates turned out to be my biggest support

ย I am Jessy and am 23 years of age. A few months back, I was in the worst condition. It was as if I was living in hell. I had no friends and always felt lonely. I tried to cover up my anxiety, but it made me feel angry often. I started answering and behaving rudely to such an extent that I began to hurl things in the room when anyone approached me. My roommates got worried and took me to a counselor. She spoke to me for a long time and gave me some simple tips to overcome my anxiety. Meditation as she said, was a good way of controlling the symptoms. Then she also asked me to focus on my work. Slowly, I began to feel better with my roommates also offering their help and support. Today, me and my friends Stacy and Jane, are very close to each other and spend happy moments together.ย

3. My four years of suffering

ย I am 40 years old and have been suffering from anxiety attacks for the past four years. It was getting unmanageable and was interfering with my daily activities. It was then that I thought of getting help for coping with this disorder. Though I started the medications prescribed by my doctor but it was awful and did not improve my condition. I felt that it worsened the symptoms and left some side effects. It was then that I came across Panicyl, while reading a book. It has almost been six months now and I am feeling a lot better. I worry less and am able to concentrate on my work better.

4. Support and treatment helped me win

I am Allen, aged 18 and a victim of anxiety attacks. When my friends get ready to go to college, I sit at home frightened of leaving home. The fear stops me from doing anything. As a result my friends have taken me for granted and hence never force me for anything. A few years ago, my parents noticed my obsession with cleanliness. I received some counseling and things changed. My mother and sister have symptoms of anxiety as well. Already on anxiety treatment I have been taking medications and using the ‘positive self-talk’ method to control its symptoms. Apart from that the support and encouragement I receive from my family and friends has helped me in overcoming the issue.

5. My road to recovery

My name is Jason and I want to tell you how I recovered from my anxiety disorder a few years ago. I was in high school when I suffered my first panic attack in the class room. I had to do a presentation in front of the class. I was not able to do it and fell down. I didn’t even want to return to the class or meet others. Now, 23, I am living a normal life. I survived the attack by listening to music and spending time on painting. The pictures I complete make me happy and forget my sorrows. I have also undergone a cognitive behavioral therapy. It has helped a lot in overcoming the anxiety attacks.ย
