Aging is a fact of life. Aging was never considered a serious issue in so many years; however recently studies have started giving aging its importance. Aging damages your body a lot; it is not just your skin and your hair that are affected, there are changes in your organs and your systems as you age. Some changes are normal, for example people lose their appetite due to metabolic changes, week eyesight, hearing problems, etc start at around the age of 40. However, aging also brings with it major physical health problems like heart diseases, arthritis, blood pressure, diabetes etc. Though a mark of ageing, a few problems are common even in youngsters these days due to stressed, hectic and unhealthy lifestyle.

These problems can be kept at a distance by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Follow the tips given below to keep major physical problems away and live healthy as you age.

1. Exercise regularly

Exercising regularly is the best way of adding years to your life. Exercises not only keep you fit and active, but also have the capacity to reverse you physical illness. Studies say that walking for 30 minutes daily adds 1.3 years to your life, wow! In all, regular exercising can prevent you from aging early, keeping you younger for more years. Exercising regularly also keeps your mind relaxed and that stress at bay.
Cardio vascular exercise avoids major physical problems related to aging. Your exercises can include yoga, which is a complete package in relaxing your body and mind.

2. The importance of a balanced diet

A balanced diet is named so because it includes everything your body needs. Your food must include every thing like proteins, vitamins, fibers, minerals, carbohydrates, fats etc. To add everything to your meal you need to have fruits, vegetables, whole grains raw nuts etc. Cutting down on a few things is also very important, for example limit consumption of fats, salt and sugar. If you are not giving your body what it needs, it affect you as you start aging.

3. Drink a lot of water

Water consumption needs to be normal, i.e. neither a lot nor too less. You must consume at least 8 glasses of water daily. The consumption of water depends on your activities, humidity of the place you live in and also your age. To check if the water you have is sufficient for your body, you need to check the color of your urine, if your urine is golden yellow or dark in color you need to consume more water and if your urine is like plain water cut back on your water consumption.

4. Avoid unhealthy habits

Smoking and drinking too much of alcohol can cause serious health problems, avoid these habits if you want to have a healthy lifestyle. Unhealthy hobbies and also unhealthy food needs to be kept at a distance.

5. Mental and social activeness

If you are mentally and socially active, you keep stress at a distance. Good friends and your family can help you do so. Interact with people around to be active.

6. Take enough rest

Rest is very important for relaxing your body and mind. The amount of rest differs slightly from person to person. On an average, a human being needs at least 7 hours of sleep. However, if you feel tired it is better to rest. Exhausting your body and your mind can trigger a number of physical problems.

7. Keep your weight in control

Increasing age increases the fat accumulation in your body. Being overweight reduces the years from your life. Make sure you keep your weight under control to avoid myriad diseases. Being underweight is also not good for you and your health hence, you need to maintain proper weight.

8. Keep your blood pressure in control

Both high and low blood pressure are not good for you, however high blood pressure is known as a slow killer. It triggers heart disorders, brain strokes etc. The earlier you detect high blood pressure, the better it is for you as it can be controlled with medication and exercises without causing much damage to your systems.

9.Keep a positive attitude

Positive attitude and letting go of things boosts your immune system. Focus on an inspiring thought for 30 minutes everyday and see the difference in your attitude .
